I'm reading a book from the library right now by Lisa Miller called "Heaven: Our Enduring Fascination with the Afterlife." It follows primarily Jewish, Muslim, and Christian traditions tracing how and why we think of heaven in popular culture today - really interesting, I think you'd enjoy it!

Most of our beliefs come from culture, tradition, and organized religions... few have knowing of the truth of any of their beliefs... but we are to respect all such, eh?
